Where can I find a guide to 7.5 minute quadrangle topo maps for my state? And where can I get them?

First I am going to think that because your user name is NorthFLRN that you are from north FL. With that in mind.

There are a couple of places. You can go to the USGS store and download electronic maps using their interface.

OR you can go to my website http://www.samuelraileyefurd.com and go the the Topomaps link on the left hand side. That will take you to a page that has links to maps of all fifty states. Hover your mouse cursor over the place on the map that need the data for and right down the alt text that pops up.

Then for Florida go to the web archive go here:

http://www.archive.org/details/maps_usgs

enter the copied text into the search box in addition to what is already there (IMPORTANT). That will take you to your map that you can download.

for all other states go to http://libremap.org/data/ that is the page of a project that made all of these maps available. He actually raised the money to buy the maps from the government, and since the maps are in the public domain once they are bought they are free to distribute. Cool huh?

I am working on setting it up where when you click on the map you need it will actually open/download that map for you

and a big thanks to Steven Dutch professor at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, he is they guy that originally built the topo maps pages and gave me permission to put them up.

OK the links to remember are:
